Smoke

“Smoke” is an abstract series of wall mounted plywood sculptures; this series was inspired by my previous series “Chaos” and the burning technique I developed for it.

I fell in love with how the controlled burning of the plywood highlighted the unique pattern of each piece of wood. I made this series to explore the range of patterns that could result from the burning process.

The making was nice and easy and let me experiment some more with the burning process. I am pleasently surprised by the variations of patterns that emerged from the wood.
