Chaos

“Chaos” is an abstract series of wall mounted plywood sculptures; this series was inspired by the concept of Order and Chaos

I depicted Chaos into this series by using fire to burn the outside of each piece and letting it guide the effect it left behind. The other way I chanelled chaos was by carving the wood without any pre meditation and by letting my instincts take over.

I think a lot about the concept of Order and Chaos especially with everything that’s going on in the world. One of my favourite quotes on the subject;

Chaos was the law of nature; Order was the dream of man” Henry Adams

From my point of view I think Henry Adams was right to say that Order was a dream and through that dream and our obsession with rationalising our world and the universe at large, we have become destroyers of the natural Order.
